Speaker Biography:
Kelly Gay joined KnowledgeStorm in February 2000, bringing 19 years of business technology experience. As chairman, president & CEO of KnowledgeStorm, Gay is responsible for the overall strategic direction, growth and management of the company. Under Gay's leadership, KnowledgeStorm has amassed the Internet's largest business-technology specialty search site, achieved 541% base revenue growth from 2001 to 2002 and grown an additional 100% from 2002 to 2003 in the company's core business.

Prior to joining KnowledgeStorm, Gay led IBM into the entertainment, publishing, printing, advertising, broadcast, cable and sports markets as vice president of IBM's North American Media and Entertainment division. Under her direction, the IBM business unit produced 18% year-to-year revenue growth over a five-year period, with overall revenue exceeding $1 billion in 1999.

Gay serves as the chairman of the board of directors of the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicles, having been appointed to a seven-year term by former Governor Barnes and re-confirmed in 2003 by Governor Sonny Perdue. She recently completed her service as chairman of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), and now chairs the TAG advisory board. She serves on the board of directors of SciTrek, Hands on Atlanta and the Board of Directors Network. She is a member of the advisory board of Abovo Marketing and has recently been appointed to the ICAPP advisory council.

Gay was chosen by Catalyst magazine as one of Atlanta's Top 50 Entrepreneurs in both 2002 and 2003, spotlighted in Atlanta Woman magazine as a leader to watch, and has been chosen by the Atlanta Business Chronicle's yearly Who's Who in Technology for three consecutive years. She also was chosen by Business to Business magazine as an Atlanta Diva for 2000.

Gay was selected by the Atlanta Women's Foundation as the 1999 Women in Media & Technology Shining Star for her leadership in the industry and commitment to mentoring women in technology, and was chosen to participate in the 1999 class of the Harvard Business School "Women Leading Business" forum.

Gay is a magna cum laude graduate of Tulane University with a bachelor's degree in Economics.
