The Presidents' Forum Fully Clingman Speaker Biography: He remains an active member of the H-E-B Board of Directors and I&R Fund. He is also an advisory member of Schnucks Food Company in St. Louis, Missouri, and is a board member of the Van de Walle Food Manufacturing Co. (both Schnucks and Van De Walle are privately held companies.) He became a member of CarMax Board of Directors on July 28, 2003. Clingman has received numerous honors including:
Other special recognition has been given to him by Texas Special Olympics, Juvenile Diabetes, Respite Care, Cancer Research & Treatment Center, and United Way to name a few. H-E-B is currently a $10 billion dollar company and has been named by the Grocery Manufacturers of America as one of the top three supermarkets in the nation. H-E-B has 300 stores located in Texas, Mexico and Louisiana. Clingman's contributions to the community include membership on executive committees to the United Way in Bexar County, the San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Baptist Memorial Hospital System; a board member of the Alamo Area Boys Scouts Council; a director to the YMCA Board; a member of the Santa Rosa Children=s Hospital Steering Committee; Associate Chairman of the South Texas Centre Campaign; member of the San Antonio Area Red Cross Capital Development Campaign; a member of the University of Texas at Austin Marine Science Institute Advisory Council; a member of Incarnate Word University Board of Education; a trustee of Southwest Research Institute; and a Deacon of Trinity Baptist Church, San Antonio. Clingman received a B.S. degree from Louisiana Tech University in animal husbandry and a minor in organic chemistry. He has attended many executive training programs over the years including those at Cornell, University of Southern California, University of California at Los Angeles, and Stanford.
